ABOUT US

Malawi Kukula association was born from a meeting between two dreams, that of Patrick to introduce Westerners to the beauties and riches of Africa where he grew up and that of Françoise to set up a hotel structure on a human scale where words "home", "fair", "responsible", ... would not be empty words.

.

Over the course of weeks, months, years, the project has matured, was built to lead to the creation of Malawi Kukula ASBL.

The word "Kukula", meaning to grow in Chichewa and Tumbuka, perfectly encompasses the goal that the founding members set for themselves through their association: helping everyone (Malawians, tourists, volunteers, ...) to grow, to flourish , to realize one's dreams, to realize oneself ... due to cultural, intellectual and material exchanges...

OUR MEMBERS

PATRICK SCHELLYNCK - ADMINISTRATOR - PRESIDENT - TREASURER

Aged 47, an industrial engineer and business leader, Patrick spent his first 20 years in the Congo and is therefore deeply imbued with this African culture that he claims to be and which allows us to be particularly efficient in setting up the project ( contacts with the local community, palaver, negotiations, ...). Through Malawi Kukula, Patrick would like to create the opportunity for Europeans to discover what 'real Africa' is and at the same time
support an entire region. His business management skills are undeniable and valuable to Malawi Kukula.

FRANÇOISE STEELS - ADMINISTRATOR - VICE-PRESIDENT - SECRETARY

At the age of 48, she is currently an independent home-based nurse and student in Hotel Management and Tourism Management at the Haute Ecole Condorcet, Françoise, who enjoys a varied career that has led her, among other things, to manage a guest house. These cumulative experiences led her to consider a professional reconversion to put her talents at the service, no longer of the medical world, but of that of the hotel industry and decided to offer itself a legitimacy by taking the path of the school. When she meets Patrick, Africa already has a privileged place in her heart, since it was in the hope (not concretized) of living there that she had chosen at 17 to become a nurse. Never had she imagined, however, the direction that is about to take her life today at the age when some are already beginning to count down the years that separate them from retirement.

BERNARD DUGAUQUIER - ADMINISTRATOR

57 years old, entrepreneur, Ber-nard is also a passionate. Passionate about his work, travels, his large family but especially human relations. He says he is responsible for the happiness of his clients, his clients and associates and is therefore a strong advocate of the concept of free enterprise and its participative management. He succumbed unexpectedly to the charms of Africa when his wife, already convinced, dragged him there. When he heard us talk about the project, it was without hesitation that he wanted to be there to help us and support us.

ANNE THE MEMBER - MEMBER

40 years old, born in Paris, having studied university in London, Anne is now a project manager in the European Communities. She shares the majority of her free time between her family and her passion for yoga. His interest in a fairer world and respect for the planet
as well as all living things in their diversities is undeniable. She shares this passion with enthusiasm with her husband Duncan (International Law Attorney) and her children. Anne will be able to give Malawi Kukula this enthusiasm as well as her expertise in terms of international relations and European subsidies. Duncan will also be of great help to us in legal matters.
