Day 1

Brussels-Lilongwe flight  with Ethiopian Airline.

Arrival next morning.

Day 2

Reception at Lilongwe airport and transfert to your hotel - Korea Garden Lodge.

​

Days 3 and 4 - Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve

Shortly after breakfast we start our tour towards Vwaza Marsh. We’ll arrive shortly before sunset, so you will still be able to take a look from your hut and watch the animals come drinking on the banks of the small lake.

In the early morning hours, a two – three hour walk around the lake at Vwaza awaits you, enabling you to approach the hippos. If fortune smiles upon us, we may even admire a group of elephants taking their bath.

For the most courageous, getting up before sunrise gives you the unique opportunity to observe the hippos regaining the water after a night grazing in the meadows.

Days 5 and 6 - Nyiaka National Park

Around 8:00 am you’ll leave for Nyika National Park, the biggest Reserve in Malawi, on the Nyika plateau at 2400m altitude. We’ll sleep in a tent in Chelinda Camp. Once we are installed in the Camp, you can make a first tour in the Reserve and admire both animals and landscapes. Early next morning, you’ll go for a second, much longer tour in order to be able to enjoy even more grandiose sightings of the plateau. One last visit in the late afternoon shall be proposed to try and meet some leopards.

Days 7, 8 and 9 - Misuku Hill

Around 8:00 am you’ll leave for Misuku where you’ll arrive at the end of the day. You’ll sleep in the Guest House of a coffee plantation. .

You’ll get the opportunity to visit the plantation and thus enjoy discovering all the production secrets of this delicious beverage. You will then discover the primary forest on Misuku Hill with its many hornbills. You will be immersed for half a day.

Day 10 - Karonga

Around 8am you’ll head for Chilumba where you’ll find La Rondavelle, your place to stay.

Before arrival, you’ll stop at Karonga to take lunch and to visit the Historic and Prehistoric Museum of Malawi.

Days 11, 12 and 13 - Livingstonia et Chilumba

Between two days of relaxation, we’ll leave our camp and go to the flanks of the Nyika plateau where you’ll discover Livingstonia, a little village loaded with history. After our lunch in this village we’ll go to the Manchewe Falls and discover their legends.

Day 14 - Lilongwe

In the morning you’ll head for Lilongwe and join the Korea Garden Lodge. On our road, we’ll take the time to stop at Mzuzu to enjoy the colourful grand market. We’ll also take our lunch at Mzuzu. Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey direction Lilongwe where you can, depending our arrival time, visit some important monuments, amongst which the Mausoleum of Dr. Banda – prime minister of the country.

Day 15

Transfer to Lilongwe Airport – flight back to Brussels with Ethiopian Airlines. Arrival the next morning.

Prices and conditions

The price for this trip is 2350 € / person, excluding flight, for a group consisting of at least 4 people.

It can be organized from 2 people at an extra charge of 280 € / person.
